Raftup/cleanup at Fort McRee - This was an exceptional event. Over thirty yachts/boats of various makes and sizes. Very successful cleanup and lotsa good publicity in Pensacola News Journal for joint effort with Navy Yacht Club. Pig roast was the best ever. High winds Saturday night resulted in a westward shift of the anchorage for some and great stories for all. This was an "all time great" gathering! |

Raft at Fort McRee - No events or meals scheduled for Friday, every vessel/person for themselves. Saturday evening will depend on whether we can get the participants to bring an hors d'oeuvre or a side dish to the bonfire on the beach. It'll take some coordination to get volunteers to bring firewood and the like, but assuming we get the volunteer effort, it could be as sporty as an old fashion low country style shrimp boil or as little as shared stories around a campfire. No formal activities/no cleanup of the island scheduled. Chairs, blankets and lights are usually a good idea for this event. Sunday morning, we're hoping to have volunteers bring the fixings for the traditional cruisers breakfast of champagne, mimosas, Bloody Marys and brunch dishes which will be served at 10 AM on the beach. Let me hear from you (cfkvlogan@aol.com)! Go here to signup. |
